The SAL-70200G is a technically brilliant lens. There are no aspherical elements at all in the lens and the four extra low dispersion glass elements used in the lens ensures that unlike most zoom lenses, this one does not suffer from chromatic aberrations at all. Even at the full zoom mode, the visual results and picture quality delivered are quite good and comparable to that of a prime lens. The fact that the lens is quite stable even at full zoom is a great thing. Since zoom is achieved by the internal movement of the lens, the focus is achieved much faster, making it one of the fastest zoom lenses from Sony. There are two direct manual focus modes. Astonished at the Quality I Got from the Tamron 17-50 F2.8

I am very precise when it comes to photography, but with the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 I have very little reason to complain. If I was not satisfied with this lens, I would have gladly spent the extra cash to buy a genuine Nikkor, but fortunately this is not the case. I received the lens as a birthday gift from someone who did not know much about photography and based the purchase on a conversation with me. I had mentioned that I wanted a lens that could give me shots that are more wide-angle, but never imagined that I would end up with it as a gift. When I saw the brand name on the box I almost felt sorry that it was not a Nikkor like what I was planning on getting myself, but after testing it out all my doubts vanished. I could barely believe the quality of the shots I was getting, and it turned out to be one of the best birthday presents ever.
I wanted our wedding photos to be amazing. Not only was I going to have a great wedding photographer I was going to have those disposal cameras on each table at the reception so that all of our friends and family members can take their pictures of the wedding reception too. I really love photographing the outdoors and recently joined the Ski Club at University so that I can get some more mountain and snow photos. They own their own huts up in the mountains and this year there has been a heap of snow, so I can’t wait to get out into it. I spend a lot of time in the mountains, even outside the ski season, as I love the feeling of peace and quiet that being in the wide open spaces brings. I read a lot and love looking at landscape photography, especially of photographers such as Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell. I don’t really aspire to becoming a world famous photographer myself, to me being out there is what is important, and I cherish any time I spend away from my life in the city. If anything I’d like one day to be able to publish a book or two and sell a few prints through the clubs I am involved with. Anything that gets me out into the beautiful outdoors more and more is what I want to do.
